Overview
The Bridge of "Ruthounion"(Meaning nostrils in the Cypriot Dialect) is located in the area of "Zimbounieris" in the village of Amargeti. The bridge with the special name was built during the Frankish occupation and connected the community of Amargeti with neighbouring villages and specifically with Eleidi. According to tradition, the bridge of Ruthounion got its name thanks to two natural holes located in a rock near the bridge and whenever it rained water would flow from within resulting in the residents of the past saying that the nostrils were running, a story that few people know.
